The use of PP and PE fiber in
our packaging is not done withoutreason.
Eventhough the material (as all plastics) is artificially
produced from crude oil gasoline. It is a relatively clean
production without extensive use of chemicals and water.
Greenpeace has developed a pyramid of plastics. This Pyramid
gives a guidance to the characteristics of the main plastics
available.
The pyramid is a range of plastics according to their hazardous
characteristics. PVC, the most problematic plastic is at the top
ofthe pyramid. The least polluting plastic in the base (PP,PE and
Bioplastics).
The range in the pyramid can change depending for example on
theuse of toxic additives. Also for example the use of toxic
lamination (printing) can change the position.
